Creating a party on Partie takes less than 2 minutes. Managing it, from RSVPs to payments to check-in on the day, takes zero stress. This is a complete walkthrough for hosts: everything from creating your first event to running check-in at the door.

Before You Start: What You Need

  • A Partie account (verified with your phone number)
  • A date, rough location, and approximate guest count in mind
  • A cover photo or banner (optional but recommended, events with photos get 3x more RSVPs)

That's it. You can fill in details as you go. Partie saves drafts automatically.

Step 1: Create Your Party

Go to partie.in/create and tap Create a Party.

Fill In the Basics

Party Name. Make it descriptive and interesting. "Priya's Rooftop Sundowner" performs better than "Party at Mine". Good names communicate vibe instantly.

Date and Time. Set your start time. You can optionally set an end time (recommended, it manages guest expectations and respects neighbours).

Location. Enter your area or neighbourhood (e.g., "Koramangala, Bangalore"). You'll share the exact address privately through the group chat after RSVPs are confirmed. Never display your full address publicly.

Category. Choose what kind of event this is:

  • House Party
  • Rooftop / Terrace
  • Themed Night
  • Game Night
  • Social Mixer / Networking
  • Birthday Celebration
  • Farewell
  • Other

Vibe. Chill, Dancing, Intimate, High Energy. Guests use this to filter for events matching their mood.

Set Your Capacity

This is the most important field. Set a firm number, the platform automatically closes RSVPs when this limit is reached. You'll never accidentally over-invite.

Rule of thumb by space:

  • 1BHK → 10–12 guests
  • 2BHK → 18–22 guests
  • 3BHK → 28–35 guests
  • Rooftop / Independent house → 40–60 guests

Write Your Description

Writing a party description on Partie

A good description covers:

  • What kind of event this is and what guests should expect
  • Dress code or theme (if any)
  • What's provided (food, drinks, BYOB)
  • Any specific requirements or info guests need

Example of a strong description:

"Rooftop sundowner at mine — catching the Bandra sunset with good company. We'll have drinks and finger food sorted. BYOB welcome too. Dress comfortably but make an effort. Capacity strictly 20. Address shared to confirmed RSVPs only."

Guests who read this know exactly what to expect. Events with detailed descriptions have significantly higher RSVP conversion rates.

Upload a Cover Photo

Add a cover photo that represents the vibe, your rooftop, a previous party, a relevant aesthetic. Canva has free templates if you want something designed. Events with cover photos get 3x more RSVP clicks than events without.

Step 2: Set Your Pricing

Host your own party with Partie

Free RSVPs · Group chat · QR check-in · UPI payments. Ready in 2 minutes.

Create a Party

Free Party

Leave the price at ₹0. Guests RSVP for free. You cover all costs as host.

Set your cover charge in ₹. Guests pay via UPI, card, or wallet at the time of RSVP, before the party. No cash at the door.

How cover charge payouts work:

  • Guests pay when RSVPing
  • Funds are held securely
  • After your party date (T+24h), the payout is transferred to your linked bank account
  • Partie takes a 5% platform fee on paid events. Free events have no fee.

Suggested cover charges:

  • Budget party (food + mixers): ₹100–200
  • Well-provisioned evening (food + drinks): ₹300–500
  • Premium setup (open bar, catered food): ₹600–1,000+

See our house party budget guide for detailed cost breakdowns.

Step 3: Publish and Share

Once you tap Publish, your party is live. You get:

  • A party page — a shareable URL that shows your event details
  • A Partie link — short link for sharing in WhatsApp, Instagram, or LinkedIn
  • A group chat — auto-created for all confirmed RSVPs

How to Share

  1. WhatsApp. Send your Partie link with a personal message to the people you specifically want to invite. Personal invites have far higher conversion than broadcast messages.

  2. Instagram Story. Post your cover photo with the Partie link in your bio or as a link sticker. Swipe-up or link sticker drives direct RSVPs.

  3. LinkedIn (for networking events). Post your event with the Partie link. Add 2–3 specific sentences about who the event is for.

  4. Direct DM. For private parties, message individuals with your Partie link. This is the most conversion-efficient method.

See our complete party invitation guide for wording templates.

Step 4: Managing RSVPs

Your host dashboard shows real-time RSVP status. You can:

Approve or Decline RSVPs

For curated events, enable manual approval mode. Every RSVP request comes to you for review before confirming. You'll see the guest's profile photo, name, and mutual connections if any.

For open events, RSVPs auto-confirm until capacity is reached.

Communicate with Confirmed Guests

Use the Partie Group Chat for all pre-party communication:

  • Share the exact address 24–48 hours before (to confirmed guests only)
  • Send a reminder the morning of the party
  • Share parking info, what to bring, any last-minute changes
  • Build anticipation, post a photo of the setup

The group chat keeps all party communication in one place, separate from your personal WhatsApp.

Edit Your Event

Need to change the date, time, or capacity? Edit anytime from your host dashboard. All confirmed RSVPs are notified automatically.

Cancel Your Event

If you need to cancel, do it as early as possible through the app. All confirmed guests are notified immediately and refunds are processed automatically for paid events.

Step 5: Day of the Party — QR Check-In

Open Partie on your phone and go to your event's check-in screen. You'll see:

  • The full guest list of confirmed RSVPs
  • A QR scanner (or manual name search)

How It Works

For guests: Each confirmed guest has a unique QR code in their Partie app under "My RSVPs".

For you: Point your check-in scanner at their QR code. Green = confirmed, admitted. Red = not on the list.

The dashboard updates in real-time: you always know how many people have arrived vs. how many are expected. When you hit capacity, you know immediately.

No QR? Manual Check

If a guest doesn't have their QR handy, search their name in the guest list and mark them as arrived manually.

Step 6: After the Party

Payout (Paid Events)

Payouts process automatically T+24h after your event. No action needed from you. You'll receive a notification and the amount appears in your linked bank account.

Post in the Group Chat

Share your best party photos in the Partie group chat. This builds the social proof that makes people excited for your next party. Hosts who share party photos consistently get higher RSVP rates on subsequent events.

Review Your Guests

Leave brief reviews for guests who attended. This builds a mutual reputation system that makes the Partie community better for everyone.

Host Tips That Make a Difference

Set an RSVP Deadline

In your event settings, set an RSVP cut-off date (3–5 days before the party). This forces genuine commitment and gives you a firm headcount for food and drink planning.

Use the Group Chat Early

Don't wait until the day before to activate the group chat. Post the dress code when RSVPs open. Share the vibe. Let guests interact. This builds anticipation and reduces day-of no-shows.

Keep Your First Party Small

First-time hosts: keep it to 15–20 people. Smaller is more manageable, more intimate, and easier to get right. Your second party will be better because of what you learned at your first.

Respond to RSVPs Promptly

For manual-approval events, review RSVPs within 24 hours. Guests who are left waiting often move on and find something else to do.
