Privacy Policy

Information you provide directly:

• Name, email address, and password when you sign up
• Phone number (for OTP verification)
• Profile photo, bio, city, and Instagram handle
• A verification selfie, if you choose to verify your profile (see section 2a below)
• Party listings you create (title, description, location, photos)
• Messages sent via group chat or direct messages
• Reviews and ratings you submit

Information collected automatically:

• Device type, operating system, and browser
• IP address and approximate location (city-level)
• App usage data and interaction logs
• Push notification subscription tokens

Information from third parties:

• Google profile data when you sign in with Google (name, email, profile picture)
• Payment transaction data processed via Razorpay (we do not store card details)

• Create and manage your account
• Connect you with parties and people in your city
• Process RSVP requests, payments, and host payouts
• Send notifications about RSVPs, messages, and party updates
• Display your public profile to other users
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety violations
• Improve the platform through analytics and feedback
• Comply with legal obligations under Indian law

To help keep parties safe, you can verify your profile, and we may require it before you join or host a party. You take a selfie copying a pose we choose, and a member of the Partie team compares it with your profile photos.

• The selfie is stored in a private location. Only authorised Partie staff can see it, and only while reviewing it. It is never shown to other users.
• It is deleted as soon as it has been checked. We keep only the result (verified or not), when it was decided, and who decided.
• We do not use it for face recognition, advertising or any other purpose, and we do not share it.
• Verified people get a blue check next to their name, which other users can see.
• You can ask us to remove your blue check or delete your data at any time (see Your Rights).

Partie is for house parties and social gatherings. To keep it safe and legal we automatically check what is posted publicly, and a person on our team decides anything the check is unsure about.

• We check party listings and profile bios for signs of illegal activity such as paid sexual services or escort advertisements, drug sales and scams, using simple rules and an AI model (Google Gemini or Gemma, through Google's API). The text is sent to Google only for this check. We use a paid Google plan, under which Google does not use it to train its models.
• Messages are checked on our own servers with the same simple rules. Only a message the rules find suspicious is sent for a second look, and ordinary chat never leaves our servers.
• If a listing looks like it may break the rules it is hidden until a person has reviewed it, usually within a day. Nothing is decided by the AI alone: it can only send something for review. You can write to hello@partie.in if you think a decision is wrong.
• Flags (what was flagged, why, and the decision) are kept so we can spot repeat offenders, and are deleted with your account.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these circumstances:

• Other users: Your public profile (name, photo, city, bio, reviews) is visible to other Partie users. Party attendees can see fellow attendees' names and photos.
• Service providers: Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Razorpay (payments), Firebase (phone auth), OneSignal (push notifications), Google (maps search and the safety review above). All operate under data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements: When required by Indian courts, law enforcement, or regulatory authorities.
• Business transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may transfer to the successor entity.

Your data is stored on servers located in South Asia (ap-south-1) via Supabase's infrastructure. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest), row-level security policies, and regular security audits.

Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. However, no system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or outdated data
• Erase your data (right to be forgotten), subject to legal retention requirements
• Withdraw consent at any time — this may affect your ability to use the platform
• Nominate a person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity
• Grievance redressal — contact our Data Protection Officer below

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and secure sessions. We use analytics cookies (via PostHog) to understand app usage in aggregate, with no personally identifiable information. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may break login functionality.

Partie is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will promptly delete their account and data. If you believe a minor is using the platform, contact us immediately.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active, plus an additional period to comply with legal obligations (typically 3 years for financial records under Indian law). Deleted accounts are purged within 30 days, except where legally required to retain.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
